(Nothofagus alpina)

Great bearing tree that reaches, in good ecological conditions, up to thirty meters of height. It has rough crust and by his wood of excellent quality is very appreciated by the carpenters. Its natural area of distribution is very restricted; in Neuquén it occupates surfaces between the Quillén lake and the Lácar lake, in sectors of Lanín National Park . It is a specie that requires great protection. Obliqua is associated with Nothofagus (rivets pellín), and is accompanied by other tree species by the humid forest, like coihue and lenga. The species occupates areas that have grounds with abundant humus, on slopes of moderate slopes and humid exhibition (South) but that are protected of very cold winds.

Uses:
In floors outer and inner completions, blinds, doors and windows, furniture, plates, broad ribbon, boats, stairs, etc.
