INTRODUCTION
The use of the forests, oriented mainly to the wood production, was elaborated
thinking about the handling of such in the north of its distribution in
Argentina, that includes from Tierra del Fuego to the center of Neuquén
province, to the approximated latitude of the Chilean locality of Temuco.
The forests constitute probably the native forest resource of greater
importance than can, within the framework, be handled in sustainable form
by means of simple silviculturales techniques
and simple forest arrangement. Lenga is included as much between the native
species of greater relevance in Argentina as in Chile in terms of aserrables
tree trunks production. The accumulated knowledge on the forests
of this species allowed the elaboration of a simple general frame for
its arrangement, based on concrete silviculturales
experiences and the knowledge available on existence and growth.
